Enjoy a healthier, more energetic life with the new Google Fitness!
It's often difficult to gauge how much and what type of exercise is needed to stay healthy. That's why Google Fitness has teamed up with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Heart Association (AHA) to create the Cardiorespiratory Fitness Score, an exercise goal that will help you improve your health.
Exercise that gets your heart rate up is great for your physical and mental health. Every minute of moderate-intensity exercise (e.g. walking the dog at a faster pace) earns you one cardiorespiratory score, while more intense exercise (e.g. running) earns you double the cardiorespiratory score. The AHA and WHO recommended exercise levels can be achieved by simply doing 30 minutes of brisk walking each day for 5 days a week. This has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, improve sleep quality and boost overall mental performance.
